Tennessee Vols quarterback Joe Milton is expected to be picked in the 2024 NFL Draft, but it's unclear when he'll be selected.
Milton has the physical tools that NFL teams love -- elite size, strong arm, and speed.
But the former Vol has struggled at times with consistency and "touch" on his passes.
Still, the potential is there. And former Super Bowl MVP Phil Simms thinks he's a player that the New York Giants (Simms' former NFL team), along with every other quarterback-needy team in the NFL, should target in the middle rounds of next month's draft.
“Joe Milton III at Tennessee, man, if he’s there in the fifth round, my ass is taking him,” said Simms on The Talkin Ball Podcast. “I’d like to meet him and watch him work out. But it’s just too enticing. He’s got things that we can see."

Some analysts have suggested that Milton could fall all the way to the seventh round, due to his lack of consistency.
But after hearing Simms talk about Milton, it's easy to see how an NFL team could take the former Tennessee quarterback in the middle rounds of the draft. The tools for greatness are all there. And Milton, despite his age (he just turned 24), only started 23 games during his six-year college career. So there's still plenty there that the Florida native can unlock as he embarks on his pro career.
